  Sidepath…Your Solutions Partner

Irvine, CA, April 30, 2007 –Sidepath, Inc. prides itself in providing telecommunications products and services to help simplify its customers’ network and data management activities. Established in 2002, Sidepath’s expertise is in telecommunications data services, data center hosting, disk-based backup, and Storage Area Network (SAN).

Sidepath is an AT&T Solutions Provider and has won awards in two consecutive years. For 2007 Sidepath was honored with AT&T’s Top Revenue Contributor Award in the AT&T West Region. Sidepath won AT&T’s Sales Excellence Award for Top Growth in 2006. This success is due to Sidepath’s strong partner relationship with AT&T, as well as the priority and value that Sidepath places on maintaining long-term relationships with its customers. When customers need new or increased data services, they contact Sidepath because they know Sidepath will manage the project from the start of the sales process to the completion of the installation. Customers know they can trust Sidepath to provide excellent customer service, and they can depend on AT&T’s solid and dependable network.

Sidepath’s Senior Principals, Jim Andronaco and Patrick Mulvee, previously worked at SBC/AT&T and were major contributors to growing SBC’s data center hosting and VPN revenue in the West Region in just a few years. They have a combined industry experience of over 20 years in the data center hosting, advanced IP networks, and telecommunications arenas. Their consultative approach when discussing network solutions with their customers is one of the reasons for their success. Their determination in maintaining honest and professional long-term customer relationships is a commendable and notable strength.

AT&T’s Irvine data center has been on a power freeze for the past 16 months. The final phase of the Irvine data center was completed in Fall 2007 with 1500 sq.ft. of data center floor space built at 150 watts/sq.ft. usable. During the power freeze, Sidepath was instrumental in providing AT&T Irvine data center customers with the best of breed solutions that did not require more power. The solutions that Sidepath provided encompassed leading edge technology, such as virtualization, de-duplication and thin provisioning. Sidepath was able to assist customers in achieving greater results while utilizing less physical resources.

Data Storage that is Easy to Manage and Cost-Effective
Sidepath has chosen to partner with Compellent Technologies, the cream of the crop and most innovative data storage provider in the IT landscape. Compellent has won InfoWorld’s “2008 Best SAN of the Year” Award. Having also won in 2006, Compellent is the first enterprise storage provider to earn the “Best SAN” distinction in consecutive years (InfoWorld did not designate a Best SAN award in 2007). In 2007 Compellent was named one of the “Storage Hot Company” by Storage Products Guide.

Compellent’s Storage Center utilizes Dynamic Block Architecture technology to intelligently optimize data movement by using metadata to keep track of all blocks. Storage Center provides scalable, build-as-you-grow hardware, a single unified interface, and a suite of software applications for dynamic capacity, data progression, data instant replay for quick recovery, and remote instant replay. Storage Center is also technology independent, providing simultaneous support for fibre channel and iSCSI server connections. This sophisticated approach to storing, recovering and managing data means customers can purchase less storage than normally thought needed for complete safety.

According to InfoWorld, Compellent’s Storage Center was the best SAN tested and had the broadest feature set and the greatest ease of use. Highlights include the automated data migration capability, which makes the best use of the most expensive storage with superb scalability and excellent support, all at a very competitive price. Compellent's level of maturity places it alone at the pinnacle of midrange systems and even compares favorably with top-tier systems. Per InfoWorld, the SAN received a perfect score of ten for manageability, supported by first-rate marks for its automated tiered storage, scalability and Copilot support program.

Disk-Based Backup…No More Tape!
Sidepath partners with Data Domain, a pioneer and leader of disk-based backup and network-based disaster recovery systems. Data Domain has effectively created a new category of data protection: disk-to-disk (D2D) backup that provides massive data de-duplication. Data Domain received Deloitte Technology’s 2007 Silicon Valley “Fast 50 Rising Star" Award, ranking at number two. Data Domain’s DDX Array Series won Storage Magazine-SearchStorage.com’s “2006 Storage Product of the Year” in the Backup Hardware Category.

Data Domain systems use Global Compression, its high-speed de-duplication technology, to store several months of backup and recovery data at a price point equivalent or lower than tape via massive data de-duplication and compression. On average, 10x-30x data reduction rates were achieved at very high throughput rates, shrinking data volume to an absolute minimum. With these compression rates in place, enterprises can maintain their data onsite on an average of 30-90 days.

Enterprises can expect faster restores and ensure backups are reliable due to Data Domain’s high end verification process—its data invulnerability architecture runs continuous data verification to ensure data is always protected. For disaster recovery or remote office protection, enterprises can also expect to see a reduction of up to 95% in bandwidth requirement when vaulting data offsite because Data Domain’s technology only needs to transport new or unique data over the network to be stored on disk. This is achieved by breaking the data into a small number of fundamental parts, which when replicated can be used to rebuild the original data, thus only requiring new or unique data to be transported.

Data Domain delivers the performance, reliability and scalability to address the data protection needs of enterprises of all sizes. Its products and solutions integrate into “existing” customer infrastructures and are compatible with leading enterprise backup software products.

Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) has performed four hands-on analyses of Data Domain solutions for the past three years, and the results have been impressive and amazing. Per ESG, Data Domain has built strong momentum, established a proven track record, and remains the leader in the D2D backup systems…they are the one competitors want to beat!
